Graham Mcbeth – Chairman

After graduating from Glasgow University in 1984, Graham was employed by National Semiconductor and so, started his career working within the technology industry.

In 1995, an opportunity emerged to join the UK Electronic Component Distributor, Abacus PLC. Over the next 14 years, through a mixture of generic growth and acquisitions, the Group established itself as the 4th largest distributor of its kind in Europe. Throughout most of these years, Graham acted as Managing Director and led an impressive sales growth, from £30M to £300M.

The Abacus Group was acquired by Avnet in 2009, a Nasdaq-listed company and one of the world’s largest component distributors. A new specialist subsidiary was established, Avnet Abacus, with Graham taking the role of Chairman and joining Avnet’s European Board.

Revenue almost doubled, and profits soared for Avnet Abacus; therefore, the global business of Premier Farnell was acquired in 2016 for $900M, where Graham was appointed as Chairman of the Board.

Premier Farnell was an interesting mix with its $1.5B turnover split 50% online and 50% in traditional sales channels and the 3,800 employees that were dispersed across 40 countries. This role obligated Graham to spend a significant amount of time in the US, travelling on a monthly basis to attend various Management Forums as Avnet strived to become a $20B corporation.

In August 2018, Graham retired from the corporate world and now acts as the Chairman of Hanhaa, an emerging IOT innovator. Based on a long-standing friendship, David Callaghan made a business proposal to forge a professional network with Graham, considering his extensive business and employee engagement experience. After accepting, he invited Graham to make their working arrangement more formal, thus assuming the role of Chairman for MIT.

David Callaghan – CEO

David joined Centralus in January 2017 and was appointed CEO in May 2018.
He qualified as a Charted Accountant with KPMG, working in the UK and Australia. Then, he became a professional marketer at IBM. Later on in his career, he also qualified as a Chartered Manager, attaining his Fellowship.

As an outsourcing specialist for the last 20+ years, David has led large global market leaders in their fields (Resource Solutions and Williams Lea) as well as dynamic niche leaders, such as Hazell Carr where he was a part of the team that sold the business. The diverse cultures and industries, combined with outsourced business services, have given David invaluable insights into employee engagement.

David helped Centralus with his financial, operational, sales and marketing expertise, introducing its very unique and powerful proposition to the UK market. Nearly two and a half years later, Centralus has created a whole new industry, helping clients transform their business through their engaged staff. Having built a team worthy of being a market pioneer while sharing a passion for employee engagement, David was trusted in replicating this success for MIT.

As a keen sportsman, even after breaking too many bones and having too many injuries in the past, David still retains his passion for Liverpool FC and spends most of his spare time running a small taxi service for the younger generation of the same surname. A devoted supporter of local issues, David is part of a networking group that meets regularly in the same establishment.

John Taylor – CFO

With over 20 years of experience, John has had a long-standing reputation as a global, C-suite financial professional.

As an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (ACMA), John started his career with Lloyds before moving onto Barclays Capital where he spent a few years focusing on the UK, Asia-Pacific and Latin America, and subsequently became Global Head of Finance Product Control for Treasury. Later on, John worked at Deutsche Bank in London as CIO for Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa where he played a key role in the expansion and integration of business in the Middle East, Moscow & South Africa.

Over the past 10 years, John has held Global CFO and Global Finance Transformation positions for leading, fast-growing organisations in Europe and Asia, including some of the world’s most successful brokers.

John has a genuine passion for working closely with client companies to understand their needs and help develop tailored services to suit them.

With a strong focus on regulations, compliance, finances and operational transformations, John joined us as CFO, stating that he wanted to be part of an impressive and pioneering firm, offering a service that in a few years would be the pillar to any successful business.

John admits that he is possibly the least sporty person north of the Antarctic but manages to hack his way around a golf course (at least the first few holes before he gets bored and heads to the 19th) and occasionally drags friends and family on “exciting” hike excursions in the countryside, provided there are adequate refreshments at the end of every trail.

He is distinguished for engaging effectively with stakeholders, gaining trust through transparency and confidence to enhance a mutual business focus and achieve shared goals. Anna Doherty – HR Director

Anna began her career in HR at Harrow College, where she facilitated the employment process in the life-long learning sector for a decade. Initially, as an administrator, she was responsible for recruiting staff, which encompassed writing targeted adverts; verifying candidates’ personal details; conducting a smooth onboarding process; and greeting them with a warm welcome into the college. She expanded her knowledge over the years and was given an advisory role, which included running new staff inductions, organising staff training sessions, and took responsibility for all HR functions (e.g. time & attendance, probations, contracts, consultancy and employee engagement).

As an HR expert, she acquired her CIPD qualification while working for Bushey Academy as an HR manager, where she used her skills to enhance employee engagement and run the HR department.

Anna is a valuable asset that offers tangible value towards our efforts in promoting the importance of employee engagement, which is proven in the effectiveness of day-to-day operations. When she is not at work, ensuring that every employee comes into the office with a smile, she is devoted to her two children and loves swimming, exploring new places and travelling with her family.
